David Owen — PowderQuest Owner

Our Story

We've come a long way since August 1998 when founder, David Owen began drafting PowderQuest via Compaq computer, a nearby pay phone and countless rounds of yerba mate from a log cabin in snowy Pucon, Chile.

In 1999, PowderQuest launched as a legal corporation in the USA and our first trips began in Patagonia. We have not looked back since. Japan was added to our itineraries in 2014 due to high demand from our alumni guests. We look forward to hosting you on our current and future global quests for powder.

" I can’t believe I was initially planning to travel around Chile and Argentina myself on a search for skiing. How could I ever have hoped to have the type of experience I’ve had with PowderQuest!
I came on this trip with very simple goals, to ski hard and fast, steep and deep. In reality I have come away with much more; good friends, local knowledge, new backcountry skills, and maybe most importantly some new perspectives on life. You really did everything possible to make this the trip of a lifetime."
