Travel Insurance

ski travel protection insurance

What Travel Insurance We Require

When joining a guided PowderQuest trip, we require that you have insurance for ski travel that covers:

  • personal accident
  • medical expenses
  • and air ambulance (emergency evacuation)

Additionally, if you are joining our Advanced Off-Piste and Backcountry trips, you need to make sure your insurance covers off-piste and/or backcountry skiing and snowboarding in the countries you will be visiting.

Suggested Travel Insurance Add-ons

We highly recommend adding on insurance that covers trip delay, trip cancellation, lost/damaged baggage, and all other expenses which might arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, illness, delay or inconvenience. However it is important to understand what is covered and what is not during the COVID pandemic. Some policies have changed due to COVID. Be sure to read the fine print.

PowderQuest cannot be held responsible for covering costs or providing refunds arising from any event falling in these categories.

What About Cancel For Any Reason Insurance?

Not required, but for peace of mind, many travelers are booking “cancel for any reason” trip insurance. Not a good snow year? COVID anxiety? Sudden border closures? Last minute work issues? You can cancel for any reason and get most of your trip investment back. Travel Guard Insurance, listed below offers this option when booking within 15 days of paying your PowderQuest your trip deposit.

Companies Offering Snowboard & Ski Travel Insurance

The following insurance companies offer holiday and travel insurance for skiing and snowboarding. Before purchasing, please review the fine print of the plan you are considering for what is covered, especially internationally.
